Porsche maintenance

Seasonal maintenance is about preparing your Porsche to face the changing weather conditions. As we all know, we get all four seasons in Connecticut. As your Porsche service center, we’d like to give you some tips on the right maintenance for every season so your Porsche can always perform at its best.

From Your Porsche Dealer: Seasonal Maintenance for Your Porsche by Season

Spring

After the dark days of winter, spring brings a newfound life to everything again. It’s also the time of year to prepare your Porsche for the warmer days ahead. The first thing to do is clean your car. Cleaning the outside of your Porsche is just as important as cleaning the inside, as it removes any residue of road salt that can damage the paint and cause rust underneath your car.

After your car is clean, apply a coat of high-quality wax to protect the paint from the effects of the soon-to-arrive summer sun. In addition, check your tires to ensure they’re correctly inflated. The pressure in a tire changes depending on the weather, and correctly inflated tires last longer.

Summer

Our hot, sometimes muggy summers can cause even a Porsche engine to overheat if the coolant is low. Visit us, and we’ll make sure your cooling system is in perfect shape for the hot days ahead. It’s also important to have other fluids like oil, brake fluid, and transmission fluid checked and topped up.

Speaking of heat, your transmission is normally hot and can get even hotter as the outside temperature rises. Our technicians can service your transmission, replace any worn or damaged parts, and make sure your transmission will keep your wheels moving smoothly at the speed you want wherever you travel.

Fall

Carpets of gold and red leaves mean fall has arrived. They also signal it’s a good time to get a battery check-up. Cold winter days place additional strain on a battery, particularly if it’s more than three years old. A battery test will reveal if your battery is ready for winter, or if it needs replacement.

Since it’s getting cooler, it’s also advisable to get your car’s heating system checked. A tire checkup is important in the fall, as healthy tires will let you drive easier and safer over the forthcoming snow.

Winter

It’s getting colder, and the days are getting shorter. Winter has arrived, so it’s time to swap your regular tires for snow tires. Our technicians can quickly fit them for you. We also advise another coolant check, as coolant not only prevents your engine from overheating, it also protects it from freezing temperatures.
