Your Guide to the 2021 Porsche 718 CaymanDesigned with Porsche’s heritage in mind, the 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman offers everything drivers love about Porsche but at a lower price point than some of its other counterparts. With its high-end performance and sleek design, this Porsche overperforms its price tag.

Basics About the Porsche 718 Cayman

The 718 Cayman is the hardtop sister of the 718 Boxster, both of which hit the market in late 2020. This two-seater, mid-engine roadster comes from the legendary German carmaker, Porsche. It may be Porsche’s lowest-priced sports car, but with its beautifully designed chassis, solid braking, intuitive suspension, and perfect steering, it manages to instill the same levels of excitement and thrill that you’d get from any top supercar.

Trim Levels

The Cayman is available in five trims. Every Cayman is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Buyers have the option to switch to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with shift paddles mounted to the steering wheel. Porsche offer their buyers a wide range of options to customize their Cayman from the inside out. Exterior paint colors, bodywork, interior upholstery, seats, driving assistance features, and infotainment are just some of the features that can be modified and upgraded.

718 Cayman

Under the hood of the base model Cayman is a 2.0L turbocharged Boxer 4 engine that produces 300 HP. It can do 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 170mph. Its standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche’s Dynamic Light System, two-way heated sport seats, and Alcantara upholstery trim.

Cayman T

The Cayman T holds the same engine and delivers the same performance as the base model, but it’s designed to be more driver-orientated. It comes with the Sport Chrono Pack, launch control, PASM sports suspension with adaptive dampers, Porsche Torque Vectoring for enhanced driving dynamics and stability, and a lap timer.

718 Cayman S

The Cayman S features a 2.5L turbocharged Boxer 4 engine. It delivers 350HP, does 0-60mpg in 4.4 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 177mph. The S features 19-inch alloy wheels and partial leather seats.

718 Cayman GTS 4.0

The GTS holds a 4.0L Naturally aspirated boxer 6 Engine that produces 394 HP. It can go from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and reach speeds of 182mph. GTS buyers get 20-inch alloy wheels, larger brakes, a sports exhaust, the Sports Chrono Package, the PASM sports suspension with active dampers, and a 20mm lower suspension.

718 Cayman GT4

The top of the range GT4 is fitted with the same engine as the GTS but produces 414HP, does 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds, and has a top track speed of 189mph. Built for the track, it features many of the GTS components but gets a bespoke suspension system, a rear spoiler, and a 30mm lower ride height.

New Features

2021 sees the addition of the GTS to the lineup. More standard features are added across the whole line up, including steering reactive Bi-Xenon headlights, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and Apple CarPlay.
